Alpha

Alpha is a course designed to allow people to have conversations about faith and its relevance to their lives. Created by Nicky Gumbel from Holy Trinity Brompton in London, over 30 million people around the world have now completed an Alpha course with many finding answers to the some of the big questions that life throws at us. Alpha is welcoming and non-judgemental and is a forum where you can share your thoughts regarding faith, no matter how controversial. You will live approximately 700,000 hours in your lifetime – why not spend less than 24 of them asking life’s biggest questions?

Alpha courses are run at regular intervals at Central Church. Why not contact us to find out when our next course starts?

Central Youth

Central Church is a church for all generations. At Central Youth we have fun, make friends and learn how to live full of purpose as God has intended for us. Central Youth runs on Friday nights from 6pm at the church and welcomes anyone of high school age.

Kids Central

Kids Central meets during our Sunday morning service in Seymour and is for children from age 4 through to Grade 6. We endeavour to provide a fun and educational opportunity for children to experience and learn about God and his plan for their lives. Each week there is singing, games, craft activities and a bible story that is engaging and memorable.

Missions

Scripture calls us act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8).

Central Church responds by supporting and engaging with missional activities. Through these we serve people both in our local community and around the world.

We presently support the following opportunities:

Local Community Mission - Bank Of Kindness

Local Community Mission – Bank of Kindness

In response to growing community needs, Central Church established the Bank of Kindness. This operates principally through our relationship with Seymour College providing practical help to students and the wider school community as required. Mercy Children’s Home, School and Church

Mercy Children’s Home was founded in 2001 by Consolate Aluoch Muga, who approached the local Welfare department to tell them that she was willing to raise orphaned children. In recent times the focus has shifted to placing children back with families wherever possible with only a small number of children now living on site. However the school and kitchen garden now provide educational opportunities for the wider community providing affordable education for more than 300 students. A library and computer laboratory have recently been established to assist to develop these children. In addition a church has also been raised up to support this work with an additional church planted near the border of Tanzania.
